This is when cell phone OEMs start rolling out the latest models in their custom OS. And as we get closer to the public launch of Android 13, OEMs have already started internal checkout for their new OS. Talking about OnePlus, their next OS model will be OxygenOS 13 which will basically be completely based on Android 13. Here you will get to know about OxygenOS 13 supported devices, OxygenOS 13 launch date, and its features.
Everyone is familiar with OxygenOS being close to inventory like with few UI functions. But when you consider that in OxygenOS 11, OnePlus has modified the UI and made it bigger like ColorOS. OnePlus even moved to ColorOS in China. And with OxygenOS 12 it got worse. Fast charging on OnePlus is also now known as Vooc in preference to Warp charging.
But can OnePlus make OxygenOS laugh again with OxygenOS 13? Well, it depends on the features and modifications that come with OxygenOS 13. And if you need to experience Oxygen OS 13 up close, you’re in the right place. Let’s start with the release date.
OxygenOS 13 Supported Devices
All the changes will be effective and interesting only when OxygenOS 13 is available for your phone. One good thing about OnePlus is that they are transparent about their update policy. The update policy includes how many major Android updates and security updates a particular OnePlus phone will receive since launch. OxygenOS 13 Release Date
As OxygenOS 13 is primarily aimed at Android 13, its launch is dependent on Android 13. And as everyone is aware that currently Google has launched the last Android 13 beta, we bet that the launch of solid build Android Thirteen is not far away.
OnePlus, by contrast, is about to announce OxygenOS 13, with the intention of having a beta to try after that. According to a few credible reports, OxygenOS 10 could be introduced with the OnePlus 10T on August 3.
The announcement points out that OxygenOS 13 may be available for beta testing after the opportunity. And OnePlus may also give a percentage of the new functions that we can see in OxygenOS thirteen on this occasion. Until the concrete launch, OxygenOS 13 can be beta tested on the OnePlus 10 Pro.
On the solid OxygenOS 13 launch, we’re betting on October or early November. And as mentioned earlier, it will likely be on the OnePlus 10 Pro first, followed by various eligible phones. In case you didn’t know, OnePlus is already testing the Android 13 developer preview on the OnePlus 10 Pro, however it won’t include OxygenOS 13.
OxygenOS 13 Features
Most users just want to get back the stock experience that OxygenOS was offering before. But there is only a small glimmer of hope because what OnePlus is doing is the opposite. They are even going to carry an alert slider soon.
As of now, very little information is available regarding OxygenOS 13 which makes it difficult to predict the new features. Well, at least we can expect some basic features of Android 13 including privacy and security changes, minor UI changes, etc.
A few days ago, OnePlus shared a teaser video of OxygenOS 13 in a tweet. It shows some of the changes coming with ColorOS 13, oh sorry, OxygenOS 13. So let’s explore the changes teased in the tweet.
New AOD Screen
The teaser showcases a new AOD design with a Spotify widget and some recommendations or queued tracks below. Currently, in OxygenOS 12, it only shows music icon in AOD. But it seems that a bigger music widget can be seen in OxygenOS 13 AOD. It could also be the lock screen, but since the background is black, we’re guessing it’s AOD.
Next up in the teaser video is the new Canvas AOD effect. In OxygenOS 13, the canvas will no longer overlap with AOD content such as the clock and date. The part of the canvas that is overlapping will be automatically cut off. And it will look something like the picture shown.
Any OnePlus phone released after July 2022 that isn’t on this list will also get the OxygenOS 13 update.
So, this was the list of OnePlus devices that will get OxygenOS 13 based Android 13 update along with OxygenOS 13 features and its release timeline.
